What is the Blue Visa?
The Blue Visa is a long-term, 10-year residency program tailored for individuals who have demonstrated outstanding efforts in environmental preservation. This initiative is part of the UAE’s broader commitment to sustainability and is open to:
- Environmental advocates and action leaders
- Members of global organizations and companies focused on sustainability
- Representatives of non-governmental associations
- Winners of international environmental awards
- Researchers and activists driving ecological change
Application Process
Individuals with a proven track record in environmental initiatives can apply through the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security. Additionally, competent authorities within the UAE may nominate eligible candidates for consideration.
ICP Director-General Major General Suhail Saeed Al Khaili confirmed that the Authority will provide round-the-clock access to the application process via its official website and mobile platform, ensuring ease of access for eligible individuals.
UAE’s Commitment to Sustainability
The introduction of the Blue Visa further strengthens the country’s leadership in sustainability-focused policies. It follows the earlier launch of the Golden and Green Residencies, reinforcing the UAE’s ambition to attract global talent in innovation and environmental stewardship.
Dr. Amna Bint Abdullah Al Dahak, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, emphasized the significance of this initiative in bringing together leading minds dedicated to sustainability. She highlighted that this visa serves as an avenue to drive impactful contributions, supporting national objectives and fostering a greener future for the UAE and beyond.
