Dubai has achieved a significant milestone, climbing to 5th place in the latest Brand Finance Global City Index, while also securing its position as the leading city brand in the MENA region. The emirate advanced four places in the global rankings from last year, now positioned just after London, New York, Paris, and Tokyo.
This year’s index, based on a survey involving over 15,000 participants across 20 countries, evaluated 100 cities on factors such as reputation, familiarity, and attractiveness for living, working, and investing.
Dubai’s progress was fuelled by its strong ratings in ‘Reputation’ and ‘Business & Investment,’ complemented by high marks in areas like remote work capabilities and investment appeal.
The city also ranks 2nd globally for economic strength and 3rd for favorable personal tax policies, reinforcing its appeal as a key destination for international investors.
Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi retained its global rank of 30th, with notable improvements in categories related to working and investment potential. It ranks 2nd worldwide for investment opportunities and 9th for remote work. Furthermore, the city rose to 20th place for its achievements in science and technology, underlining its emergence as a hub for innovation.
The results emphasize the growing influence of both Dubai and Abu Dhabi, particularly in sectors like business, investment, and technological development.
London continues to hold its top spot as the leading global city brand, recognized for its strong profile in familiarity and reputation, maintaining its broad international appeal.
